Parametrisation of TDCS in a Plane

Abstract

In (e, 2e) experiments, the electrons with momentum k o impinge onto the gas target with an energy large enough to ionize the atoms. After the collision, the pairs of electrons leaving the target with momenta k a and k b are counted in coincidence. Since 1969, when (e, 2e) technique was introduced1,2 into the atomic physics, a large number of experiments were performed on various targets and under various kinematical conditions. One of the main reasons for the continuous interest in the field is due to the fact that triple differential cross section (TDCS) measured in the reaction, represents the most sensitive test for the theoretical treatment of electron impact ionisation.
