Abstract

From single 2-level atom single mode theory in an ideal cavity (Q = ∞) P n (N), the probability of n photons in the cavity node after N inverted 2-level atoms have passed through the cavity satisfies
$$ {P_n}\left( {N + 1} \right) = a\left( n \right){P_n}\left( N \right) + b\left( {n - 1} \right){P_{n - 1}}\left( N \right);a\left( n \right) = 1 - b\left( n \right) $$

and \( b\left( n \right) = {\sin ^2}\left( {g{t_{\operatorname{int} }}\sqrt {n + 1} } \right) \) ; g is atom-field coupling (44kHz) and t int = atom — field interaction time (≈ 35μ sec).
