From a fundamental but linearised quantum theory we have developed a theory of optical dielectrics for a molecular fluidt1,2,3 which takes into account n-body inter-molecular correlation to all orders n. We show2 how such correlations lead to Lorentz’s cavity field correction plus significant local field corrections to this of all orders n.
