Squeezing in a Quasi-Phase-Matched LiNbO3 Waveguide
Previous traveling-wave squeezing experiments performed in bulk χ (2) crystals have been limited by the phenomenon of gain-induced diffraction, which couples anti-squeezed light into the squeezed quadrature and partially destroys the squeezing. 1,2 Waveguides have been proposed and recently demonstrated3 as a means of avoiding the gain-induced diffraction problem. We have observed parametric deamplification and 14% squeezing at 1064 nm using a single-mode LiNbO3 waveguide.
