Abstract

Until 1971, Cubomedusae polyps had never been raised beyond the very earliest stages. Although most workers on jellyfish until that time grouped the Cubomedusae with the Scyphozoa, it was realized that knowledge of complete life histories of Cubomedusae was essential to understanding the phylogeny of this group.
