Abstract

Quality programs have become an integral part of doing business in both manufacturing and service industries. Not only are firms marketing their quality programs as part of their general advertising campaigns (eg., Ford Quality Number One), but the use of automated manufacturing systems, just-in-time inventory systems, and interactive data bases requires a high level of precision and data accuracy.
