Quality Criteria for a Biopesticide Based on TrichodermaHarzianum

Abstract

The production of quality wines is not possible when grey rot caused by Botrytis cinerea is present on the grape berries. Chemical control has become more and more difficult because the pathogen develops resistant strains to the pesticides and chemical residues are found in wines, not to mention other undesirable environmental problems inherent in the use of chemical pesticides. The use of Trichoderma spp. could constitute an effective bio-control system if a quality formulation of the antagonist could be mass-produced at a reasonable cost.
