Abstract

Methods for the analysis of two cardiovascular drugs in plasma involving the use of liquid-solid extraction and the AASP* are described. In the first, AASP cassettes are eluted sequentially, with mobile phases of increasing acetonitrile content, to allow the quantification of the drug and its 4 metabolites. In the second a dedicated robotic autosampler (Gilson 222) is coupled with the AASP to produce a totally automated assay. All that is required is that centrifuged plasma samples be placed into the autosampler tray; sample preparation and HPLC analysis then follow without human intervention.
