Conclusions and Recommendations
The primary objective of this volume was to demonstrate that standardized psychological assessments have an important role to play in the processing of the young offender. More specifically, we were interested in showing that these assessments can enhance the quality of forensic decisions by improving the validity of inferences made about the youth and by encouraging the consistent application of decision rules. We elaborate on these positive contributions of the assessments in the next section.
