Abstract

The focus of this volume is on the assessment process as it operates within the juvenile justice system. This process refers to the collection of data about the client and the translation of those data into a judgment or inference. We have also extended the concept of assessment to include the next stage of processing, which involves the use of the inference in selecting among alternative courses of action.
