Systemic Alignment and Balance
Do people protect their vision of a school? The alignment model suggests that people act along four dimensions: leadership, strategies, structure, and results. People use attributes of these four dimensions to control results that threaten or enhance their visions. As you read this chapter, which explains each dimension, judge the system rather than the individual actors. You will discover that the system itself teaches people how to react to the results the system produces! We will build this model as we look at the four dimensions and two cultures in this chapter. If you wish to look ahead, the complete model is presented in Fig. 4.6.
