Abstract
Recent progress in optical devices and electronic devices enables developing lightwave transmission systems with the bit rate of 10Gbit/s. At present, worldwide developments of the 10Gbit/s lightwave transmission system are being carried out competitively. In this paper, we report on the development and the test results of 10Gbit/s optical transmitter board and optical receiver board, which consists of small functional blocks developed using hybrid integrated circuits and microwave integrated circuits.
