Slagging Prediction When Using the Chemical Composition of Fly Particles and the Slagging Probability Model
The deposit growth model has been developed by UraIVTI, wherein the fly ash particles are endowed by various properties depending on their part in the deposition. According to the model the contact probability of the particles with various properties which are on the deposit surface and in the fly ash flow is calculated. It was assumed that non-sticky particle can be bonded in the deposit if they come into contact with the matrix (captive) particle on the deposit surface.
The chemical composition of the individual particles of a fly ash has been measured with the help of the SEM/EMPA instrumentation for three coals with a different ash types. The relative deposition rate and the deposit composition have been calculated on the basis of the model. There is a definite accordance between the predicted data and the results, received in the industrial boilers.
