Exafs Studies of Amorphous Solids and Liquids

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Physics of Solids and Liquids ((PSLI))

Abstract

The name Exafs (Extended X-Ray Absorption Fine Structure) was given around 1970 to a phenomenon discovered in the 1930s. What was called for forty years “Kronig’s oscillations” became the Exafs technique when Sayers et al.(1) realized the usefulness of this experiment for structural analysis.
