Abstract
It is well known1,2,3 that if one wants to increase their adhesivity, polyolefins have to be subjected to a pretreatment entailing substantial modifications of their surfaces. Among the usual activation processes, we chose electrical discharge; such a treatment is very specific and therefore is widely used in industry. Corona discharge occurs in the gap between two electrodes, one of which is at a high potential and the other is grounded.4 This discharge in presence of air entails substantial physico-chemical modifications such as formation of carbonyl groups, ethylenic double bonds and alteration of external appearance.5
