Polymerization of Olefins with Magnesium Chloride-Supported Catalysts

  • Conference paper

Abstract

There is a resurgence of interest in Ziegler-Natta coordination catalysis of olefin polymerization owing to the development of MgCl2-supported high mileage catalysts. The research activities have intensified, as witnessed by several symposia dealing, either in part or entirely, with the subject. This volume is the result of one such international symposium. Review articles have also appeared. For instance, a historical perspective of stereospecific polymerization of propylene by Pino and Mulhaupt,50, discussions on the advances in the manufacturing of polypropylene by Galli et al.,28,29 and surveys onatent and scientific literature by Dumas and Hsu26 and Choi and Ray.18
