Magneto-Transport Properties of Filamentary Aluminum Conductors in Magnetic Fields, 12 — 30 K
Electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity measurements are reported on a conductor containing four high-purity Al filaments in an Al-Fe-Ce alloy matrix. Measurements in both transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields up to 8 T were made in the 12 – 30 K range, and the data are analyzed according to the Wiedemann-Franz and Kohler relations. These relations are not obeyed by either the transverse or longitudinal magneto-transport components. However, phenomenological functions based on these relations are developed which describe all the experimental data very well.
