Dense Media Penetrating Radar

Abstract

A prototype of compact ultra-wideband radar capable of penetrating dense media has been built and tested through layers of concrete walls and layers of sand. Objects behind walls or buried in the sand are detected with this device. The following discussion briefly describes the device, the experimental results obtained, the signal processing currently utilized, and future plans. The ultimate goal of the device is for media identification and media interface detection.
