In this final chapter, I suggest a way of looking at the limbic system as it may function with other portions of the central nervous system to influence behavior. The limbic system does not do its work independently of other “systems” of the brain. Therefore, no reasonable theory of the activity of the limbic system can be developed until a more general framework for the brain’s activities has been achieved. This accomplishment is not likely in the foreseeable future.
