Abstract
A large literature concerning siblings can be found in any research library, but most of past research has been concerned with the effects of birth order, family size, and gender on individual differences in various intellectual and personality characteristics. Although this is still an important domain of research, in recent years considerable attention has been focused on the interpersonal relationships between siblings and the factors influencing such relationships.
