Management and Prevention of Cutaneous Pseudocarcinoses

  • B. A. Berenbein

Abstract

As shown in the preceding chapters, the dermatologic entities included under cutaneous pseudomalignancies cover a great diversity of conditions which belong to several classification groups but which do or may show considerable clinical and/or histologic similarities to squamous cell carcinoma at some stage of their evolution or in response to certain provoking agents, Therefore, the efficacy of therapy in each particular case will of course largely depend on the disease in which the pseudocarcinomatous epidermal hyperplasia has arisen and thus on the identification of the relevant etiologic factors and pathogenetic mechanisms.
