Criteria for Diagnostic Differentiation Between Pseudocarcinomatous Epidermal Hyperplasia and Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Skin
The availability of criteria for differentiating between pseudo-carcinomatous hyperplasia of the epidermis and squamous cell carcinoma of the skin which are known to present similar clinical and histologic appearances while being radically different in biologic nature, may be of great practical significance. It would be particularly important to be able to establish the nature of such a hyperplasia, that is, whether it will remain benign or is just a link in the complex chain of events leading up to malignant transformation of the epidermis.
