Central Case Management and Postacute Rehabilitation in Denmark

The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview of the developments that have taken place in Denmark in adult postacute rehabilitation during the past 13 years. Denmark has 5 1/2 million inhabitants spread more or less equally across Fyn, Jutland, and Zealand. Rather good coverage of neurosurgical and neurological services exists and a few traditional physical rehabilitation hospitals are available. Refer to Fig. 1 for an overview of the distribution of physical rehabilitation hospitals, neurosurgical and neurological units.
