Reflectivity of Cr1/3TaS2 and its Kramers-Kronig Analysis

As a member of the layered transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD’S), TaS2 has attracted considerable research interest because of its unusual physical properties such as charge density waves and other quasi-two-dimensional behavour. Rich in polytypism, it is also very interesting following intercalation. Varieties of chemical species and substances have been intercalated (see e.g. SUBBA RAO et al [1]). Apart from the potential industrial application (see e.g. WHITTINGHAM [2]; JOHNSON et al [3]) employing some of the intercalation complexes such as lithium titanium disulphide, there is also the need to understand the various mechanisms involved in intercalation [4].
