\(\vec C \) Axis Conductivity in Graphite Intercalation Compounds

Abstract

While various groups over the past years have furnished numerous data on the basal plane conductivity, σ a (≡ 1/ρa) of a wide variety of GIC’s over the 4.2–300 K range, \(\vec C \) axis studies are much more restricted1, the only quite complete investigation being that on the SbC15 family (stages, n=1−4, 6, 10)2. Over this temperature (T) range, our work has recently extended the results to encompass new acceptor and donor binary and ternary compounds3,4,5.
