Abstract

Every year the coming of winter brings with it inevitable outbreaks of influenza throughout Japan. Different types of influenza virus are prevalent in different years; while one year type A may be difficult to prevalent, the next year type B is dominant and so on. Newspaper and television reports inform us of influenza epidemics that are particularly difficult to prevent in homes for the elderly people, many of whom have a weak constitution.
