Hollow Fiber Enzymatic Reactors: An Engineering Approach

Abstract

The systems engineering technology associated with the design of large scale hollow fiber ultrafiltration plants can readily be applied to the problem of immobilizing enzymes on hollow fibers and subsequently to the operation of the enzymatic reactors so formed. The purpose of this paper is to introduce this technology with the specific objective of demonstrating its versatility and potential.
