Abstract
The behavior of biocatalysts has been studied for a long time solely from the point of view of their time-dependence. Recently a more relevant and more realistic approach has consisted in coupling pure catalytic functions, with various phenomena intrinsically linked to space, viz. diffusion and/or partition of metabolites, and convection (flow rate, elect'ric field, … ).
