Relations between Specific and Nonspecific Thalamo-Cortical Systems. Correlation Analysis of EEG Rhythms
Foci of excitation in the central nervous system which become dominant foci, hence yielding the same reflex response regardless of the place and type of stimulation, present a conceptual problem since a diffuse spread of excitation is present concurrently with a local excitatory condition. This, in turn, raises the question of the dynamic relations between the specific and nonspecific afferent systems.
