Abstract

So many good, inexpensive digital to analogue converters (D/As) are available as integrated circuits that nobody would build one from its component parts. Nevertheless, an applications engineer still needs to understand the design in order to make the best use of the ICs. There are three types:

  • weighted resistor;

  • ladder network;

  • time division.
