Abstract

This monograph introduces the concept of computed synchronization for multimedia applications. Computed synchronization seeks to discover hidden relationships among multiple media data objects. These relationships may be due to similar sources, adaptation over time, or related content categories. This text illustrates methods for discovering these relationships and demonstrates uses for the computed synchronization data, particularly in the area of information retrieval.
