Curing with ultraviolet radiation

The technology surrounding the use of ultraviolet (UV) radiation for curing involves a unique combination of materials formulation and equipment, and as such warrants a separate treatment from the thermal systems described earlier. In terms of metal packaging its origin lies in the 1960s and yet even after 35 years of development its full potential has still to be realized. However, it is forecast that its use will continue to grow in response to more stringent air pollution controls and the call for energy efficient and clean curing processes.
