Comparing Patterns of Response: Frequency Tables

Part of the Springer Texts in Statistics book series (STS)

Where the response is categorical, a frequency distribution is defined for each group or treatment. The function of statistical analysis is to compare the frequency distributions for the different groups. Example 16.1 illustrates the typical situation in which data are collected on a categorical response variable with the aim of comparing the patterns of response in that variable between groups.
