Abstract

There has been a marked increase in litigations against hospitals and obstetricians in recent years. This litigation is frequently on behalf of children with cerebral palsy, malformations, or other less than optimal (expected) performance. Weinstein (1988), who has written a concise review on the topic, asserted that such litigation is principally the result of the following.
