Complements on Duality: Economic Interpretation of Dual Variables
Duality is so essential to linear programming theory that we considered it important to introduce the concept as early as possible in this course. Some results on duality were proven in Chapters II, IV, and VI as soon as the tools to establish them were availableD In particular, we have seen that as soon as a linear program has been solved by the application of the simplex method, an optimal solution for its dual has also been found (corollary to Theorem IV.3).
