Abstract

The way of looking at constructing the crack growth criteria in porous solids having mesodamages has been proposed. A medium is considered to contain regularly distributed cylindrical holes, centers of which form in a plane right rectangular lattice with square cell. The necessary and sufficient criteria of brittle strength parameters of medium have been constructed for opening, sliding, and tearing modes. The experimental investigations of crack growth were performed. The specimens were made of polymethyl methacrilate (PMMA) sheets with cylindrical holes and mesodamages. Strength parameters of the medium investigated have been obtained on blank-samples. The discrepancy between theoretical estimations through the criteria proposed and experimental data proved to be well satisfactory: from 5% to 15%.
