Abstract
The practice of family medicine is among the most challenging of professions. Multiple demands are made on the family doctor’s time and energy, which in part is why a family physician’s work is exciting and stimulating. But there are obvious potential problems resulting from this “busyness.” There is the possibility that the family physician will not have time to refresh his medical knowledge, improve his diagnostic skills, or update his plan for management of a correct diagnosis. More serious is the possibility that the increasing volume of medical information may cause him to feel completely inadequate as a generalist.
