Abstract

The purpose of a medical record system is to recall, reorder, and summarize data. Information is its product. If useful information cannot be retrieved, then data need not be acquired. If the product is useful, then the cost of data assimilation may be justifiable, The worthiness of an information system is very much dependent upon the utility of retrievals.
