Crosstalk in WDM Networks
This chapter presents a general description ofinterferometric crosstalk in WDM optical networks. Firstly, a classification of crosstalk is introduced. Secondly, we describe the crosstalk mechanism in WDM cross-connected systems. Thirdly, the characteristics of crosstalk and the influence on the system performance are analyzed using a simplified approach. Finally, summary conclusions are presented.
