Abstract
Dopaminergic transmission is terminated by the rapid reuptake of dopamine into presynaptic nerve terminals via a dopamine transporter (DAT) localized in presynaptic cytoplasmic membranes. Since Parkinson’s disease (PD) is closely related with dopamine metabolism, we investigated the relationship between DAT and PD to develop a new therpeutic approach to the disease.
