Part of the book series: Applied Optimization ((APOP,volume 48))

Abstract

The construction and optimization of a stable timetable has a large number of boundary conditions. The simulation program Simu++ and the vehicle rostering program Dispo++ enable the railway-companies to make transportation better and cheaper. The article gives some information about the functionality of the program, developed at the Institute of Transport, Railway Construction and Operation at the University of Hanover, Germany.
