The Comprehensive Trauma Center as an Organization
- 266 Downloads
A comprehensive trauma center, first and foremost, is a goal-directed, social entity composed of persons working to provide essential organizational and interpersonal client-oriented work-related functions to survivors of trauma. An organization, as a social collective with some level of coordination and communication, has goals that direct its activities and the activities of its members, as well as an overarching mission recognized by all (Miller, 1995). An organization creates processes to achieve those goals through a structure of patterned relationships and coordinated interactions. All aspects of the organization are influenced by the environment(s) surrounding it and of which it is a part.
