Part of the Massive Computing book series (MACO, volume 1)


The information-theoretic algorithm is applied to a real-world dataset containing typical data on Work-in-Process (WIP) at a semiconductor plant. Simplified versions of the same dataset have been used by us in Maimon et al. (2000 and 2001). Each tuple refers to a production batch identified by the key attribute Batch ID. The batch quantity is given in the attribute NW (Number of Wafers).
