Virtual Component Interfaces

  • M. M. Kamal Hashmi

When selecting a Virtual Component (VC), the user initially depends on a highlevel specification of the VC to match with his functional requirements. However, for final selection and to actually integrate the VC, the user needs a specification of its interface. In order to maximize the chances of choosing correctly, this interface must be unambiguous and complete, specifying not only the static interface to the VC, but also the dynamic interface i.e. its communications protocol.
