Abstract
The technological progress of a subject can be measured in part by the patents granted for various developments and devices in the field. This final chapter contains a survey of patents on electrode materials for electrochemical capacitors in the form of three tables, one based on specifications and performance, the second on electrolytes for electrochemical capacitors, and the third on authors and assignees. The survey includes the earliest and seminal patent of Becker and Ferry to General Electric Co. in 1957. Patent applications continue actively at present, especially from Japan. This survey was compiled by Drs. B. V. Tilak, S. S. Sarangapani, and C.-P. Chen in editorial collaboration with the author.
