The Exstrophy—Epispadias Complex

Abstract

Even after multiple reconstructive procedures continence is difficult to achieve in bladder exstrophy patients. Urodynamic investigations have shown that bladder instability and not insufficient bladder outlet resistance may be chiefly responsible for incontinence in these children. It was the aim of this study to investigate whether an inherent pathology of the detrusor muscle of the exstrophy bladder may account for the urodynamic and clinical observations.
