A complementarity problem aims at determining x ∈ ℜ n , such that
$$ x \ge 0,\quad F(x) \ge 0,\quad \bot $$
where F : ℜ n → ℜ n and the symbol ⊥ denotes orthogonality, that is,
$$ {x^T}F(x) = 0 $$
