Abdominal Pain

  • Andrew M. Davidoff

The differential diagnosis of acute abdominal pain in infants or children is lengthy; correctly determining the diagnosis is difficult since young patients often cannot verbalize specific complaints. As with most conditions in the pediatric population the differential diagnosis is influenced by the patient’s age. Three groups will be considered: infants (< 2 years), children (2–12 years) and adolescents (>12 years).
