Insulinoma

Abstract

Insulinomas are insulin-releasing tumors of the B cells of the islets of Langerhans. They are twice as common in women as men, are usually benign (90%), are multicentric in 10%, and are occasionally associated with the Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome (MEN I)(10%).
