Can We Teach Adults to Use Complex Postformal Thought?
In Parts I and II, I described how it happened that the Theory of Postformal Thought was created; I also outlined that theory. In Part III, I described applications of the theory to quite a number of situations and relationships of everyday life. In this first chapter in Part IV, I want to explore ways that I have seen adults taught to think postformally as a result of interventions in classroom settings and in other formally structured interactions. In Chapter 22, I want to explore ways that I have seen individuals use postformal thinking to stimulate their own personal development as they struggle to reach their own potential and to live in balance honoring mind, heart, body, and spirit.
